Big Leaf Tours offers a huge full-day tour taking you to both entrances of Binna Burra AND O’Reilly’s, all in the one day!

We allow you a good amount of time to explore (self-guided) the world’s most extensive subtropical rainforest that is Lamington National Park from both entrance points at Binna Burra (east) and O’Reilly’s (west) while providing you with a fascinating commentary and history of the area. 

Morning and afternoon teas are included. Lunch is at your own cost and may be purchased on the day from the resorts. Suggested budget if purchasing lunch – $20.00 pp.
BYO picnic lunch is also welcome.

Itinerary
  • Depart Brisbane from CBD;
  • Morning tea either at a scenic mountain lookout or at Binna Burra;
  • Scenic stops to photograph or view spectacular vistas of the Gold Coast or across into New South Wales and Wollumbin (Mt Warning) and the McPherson Mountain Range;
  • Up to Binna Burra travelling along newly constructed cliff side roadway;
  • Binna Burra with ample time for self-guided walk through Lamington National Park (eastern entrance) allowing exploration at own pace;
  • After departing Binna Burra we travel over a mountain pass on our way to O’Reilly’s; 
  • Lunch at either Binna Burra or O’Reilly’s, depending on conditions;
  • O’Reilly’s with ample time to absorb the sights, sounds and smells of this ancient rainforest while hiking along the designated trails. You may also have time to explore the resort, discover the history of the Stinson plane crash, test your vertigo control on the Tree Top Walk (included) and spot numerous rainforest birds;
  • Afternoon tea with spectacular panoramic views at a scenic mountain lookout, possibly followed by a glorious sunset over the distant mountain ranges to the west (weather and season permitting);
  • Return to Brisbane for drop-off and farewell.
